The tithe and offering, it’s the lifeblood that keeps the church moving forward, a key component of good finacial stewardship. It allows churches and ministries to be able to fulfill the mission, vision, & call God has placed on them. Often times though, Pastors and ministry leaders have a hard time talking about tithes and offerings with their congregation which is why we created this list of 52, 3-4 minute “Tithe Talks” to open every service and make is to comminication what they bible has to say about being a person that tithes. Through these talks, it is our goal at Ministry Designs to help with not only increase the giving at your church but also to help ministry leaders feel comfortable and confident talking about generosity from the pulpit. Each and every one of the 52 Tithe Talks below has a scripture reference and an inspiring illustration to help motivate your congregation to engage with your ministry at a deeper level. Let’s jump right in…

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. In a moment we are going to take up this morning’s tithes and offerings, but first let’s open up our bible to Malachi chapter 3, verse 10. “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” In this passage, the Lord presents us with a challenge. He says to bring our tithes to His house and present them before Him, but what follows is a challenge! He says, “TRY ME NOW IN THIS…If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” God is asking us to have faith in his Word. He says to “try me”, and see what I can do with your gift. It is God’s desire to not only bless us but to bless us past the point of having room enough to receive it! But how do we access this blessing? By faith. By believing that He can, and will, do what he says in His word. If we choose to obey and to trust in His word and accept his challenge, He will prove His word faithfully every time. Confession: “Father, today I bring my tithe and my gift into your storehouse. I believe in your word where it says that you will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing. I stand on it, I have faith in it, and I act on my faith today!”

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. In a moment we are going to take up this morning’s tithes and offerings, but first let’s open up our Bible to Luke’s gospel, and we will head over to chapter 6, verse 38. We can see here that Jesus says, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” So what exactly is Christ saying in this passage? First, He is telling us to give. This is not a matter of question, but a statement. Jesus calls for us to give into His kingdom, and the beauty of His calling is that not only will our gift return to us, but our blessing will be “pressed down, shaken together, and RUNNING OVER”. It is like you have a cup in your hands, and God turns on the faucet. But he doesn’t stop at the halfway mark. He doesn’t even stop at the top of the glass! He keeps pouring until before you know it you’ve got water running over the side of your glass, it’s pouring down your hands and spilling on the floor! And also Jesus said that with the same measure that you give it will be returned to you. God is just to return to us our harvest in whatever size that was planted. The more seed that is planted, the greater the harvest. So today, believe that when you give into God’s kingdom, have faith that your gift will return—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Confession: “Lord today I bring my gift to your house. Jesus, you said to give, and it will be given unto me. I thank you that with the same measure I use it will be measured back to me. I believe that I receive it, and I act in faith on your word today.” Let’s pray.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. In a moment we are going to take up this morning’s tithes and offerings, but first let’s open up our bible to Mark’s gospel, chapter 4, verses 26–29. When you get there just go ahead and mark your page, because I’m gonna tell you a quick story first. There was a man who wanted to take up farming to make a living. So he went out and bought about 100 acres of land, gathered up all of the tools he needed to farm, bought a brand new tractor, even a hat and a nice new pair of overalls. He said to himself, “Alright, I’m ready to go!” So the next day he got up, had a nice breakfast, put his hat on, went outside, and sat on the porch and just stared at his land all day. The next day he did the same thing. Then the next day. And even the next day! This process continued for weeks, until the man was confused and went out checking the ground for even the smallest sign of growth, but there was nothing. The obvious reason is that this man hadn’t planted any seed! Natural laws dictate that if seed is not planted, nothing will sprout. He can have all the tools, look the part, and even call himself a farmer—but until seed is planted there will be no return. Now let’s look at our scripture in Mark and see what Jesus has to say about the matter. “And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” Jesus says that the kingdom of God is like a man scattering seed. We cannot expect a harvest without first sowing seed. The farmer in my story looks ridiculous! You’d have to be a fool to do what he did and expect a return. The same goes with spiritual law. Jesus said that by faith the farmer scatters seed, and when the harvest comes he is in expectation, and is prepared to receive it. If we plant seed in God’s kingdom, we can expect without a shadow of a doubt that there will be a returning harvest. Confession: “Father, spiritual laws have been established saying that if I plant a seed it will give forth a harvest, and I believe it. So I make the decision right now to receive. I will receive. I will do all the things necessary. I will plant—I am planting now. I put the sickle to the harvest. My confession is on the Word. My confession is by faith.”

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. In a moment we are going to take up this morning’s tithes and offerings, but first let’s open up our bible to the book of Proverbs, chapter 3 verse 9–10. The human author of the book of Proverbs, King Solomon, was one of the most honored men to ever walk this earth. The Lord granted him superior wisdom and knowledge, and from that came sincere honor and respect from all who heard of him throughout the Middle East. Historians say that the Queen of Sheba, who brought King Solomon an abundance gold, spices, and fine jewels, travelled 1500 miles just to ask him questions and to visit with him. Solomon knew a thing or two about honor, and knowing that, we see that he wrote this. “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.” We see here that giving to the Lord is an act of honor. It is a way of thanking God for all that He has provided in our lives. He supplies all our needs by His riches and glory by Christ Jesus, and the least we can do is honor Him with the firstfruits of our increase. But that is not the end of the verse! The Lord says, “so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.” What an amazing thing! If you honor God with your finances and stay faithful to Him, He will bless you financially until your vats overflow! So let’s honor God this morning and give into His kingdom. Confession: “Lord I come to you today to honor you in your house. I present my tithe and my offering to you as a gift and sacrifice of honor, and I believe that you will bless me, and that my barns will be filled with plenty, and my vats will overflow. I stand on your word and act on my faith.”

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church! We are going to get into this morning’s tithes and offerings message, so let’s turn over to 2 Corinthians 9:7. How many people enjoy getting gifts? Christmas, birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Easter, when kids get their Easter baskets. The point is that it is a special thing when someone goes out of their way to get something that you would enjoy, and they present it to you as a gift. Gift giving is an exciting and fun way of letting someone know that you care about them. Now how would it feel if someone came up to you and gave you a gift, but they had a scowl on their face. They made it just plain obvious that they did NOT want to give you that gift, but that someone made them. They may even grab ahold of that thing so tight that you can’t pry it out of their hands! Now is that truly giving? No! A gift comes from the heart. “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” So what the apostle Paul was saying to the church at Corinth was that God loves a CHEERFUL giver. That we should give gifts to God because we love Him; and because He deserves them. And guess what? In 2 Corinthians 9:10 the Spirit by the apostle Paul says, “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness”. So God will bless us when we sow with a cheerful heart. He says right there that he will multiply and increase. What an honor to be able to sow cheerfully into the Lord’s Kingdom, and for Him to bless us financially in return. Confession: “Father, I come before you today as a cheerful giver. I am excited to give into your kingdom, and I believe that you will multiply this seed sown, and increase the fruits of righteousness. I believe and act on your word.”

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our church! If you haven’t been here before, we would like to welcome you and thank you for coming. Now before we get into the message this morning we are going to take up the tithes and offerings. If you have your Bibles let’s turn over to Ephesians chapter 5 verse 1. Once you are there mark your place because we will be returning to it shortly, and then turn over to John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Of course most of us have heard this verse before, but sometimes it takes reading a couple of times to unlock more meaning within scripture. Let’s read that again. “For God so loved the world that He GAVE his only begotten Son”. God so loved us that He GAVE. And not only that, but He gave us His very, very best. It is God’s very nature to give to His children. Not only this, but we can also see that the reason He gave, was because He first loved. “For God so loved the world that He gave”. So the nature of God’s giving is rooted in His unconditional love for us. Isn’t that good? Now I haven’t forgotten about Ephesians 5, so let’s flip over there and learn about our side of this. “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has LOVED us and GIVEN Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” So God loved the world so much, that He gave—and the Apostle Paul tells us, the church, to be imitators of God. And not only that, but also to walk in love just as Christ loved us. Isn’t that good? So today as we take up this offering, we all have the opportunity to imitate God through our love, and put that love into action in our giving just as He did for us. Confession: “Lord God, I know that you gave your only Son for me because you love me. I know that it is your nature to give good gifts to your children, and I know that I am to love in the same manner. I bring my gift to you today God as an act of love and obedience. I believe that you will multiply this seed, and I have faith in your word.” Check the next tithe idea.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. In a moment we are going to take up this morning’s tithes and offerings, but first let’s open up our bible to Matthew’s gospel, chapter 7 verses 9–11. Well, it’s that time of year again, Christmas is right around the corner! And it’s around this time of year that all the stores stock up on all of the fun little goodies that are popular, and commercials are run just about every 5 minutes on hot deals on the latest gadgets. And the children are just excited as ever aren’t they? There is just a magical feeling to this time of year for all of the kids. Come Christmas Eve they can hardly manage to get a couple hours of sleep, because they know that when they wake up in the morning they are going to find their gifts under that tree. They expect it. They asked for it! And because we love them, we give them these good gifts. Now let’s look at our scripture here. “Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” God is a good father! He wants to bless us, and give us good things when we ask! Jesus is saying that if we, in our human, mortal state, can give our children good gifts how much more will God our father in heaven! Now how does this tie into the offering message? Well let’s look at what Jesus says in Luke 6:38. “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Jesus says that when we give, it will be given in return. We just read that God wants to bless us. That He wants to give us gifts. And here we see that Jesus shows us the way to tap into that blessing, by sowing into the kingdom. Confession: “Lord God it says in your word that when I give, it will be given back to me in abundance. I know that you are a good Father, and that you desire to give your children good gifts. I believe and receive my blessing, and stand in faith on your word.” Check the next tithe idea.

Tithe Scripture: Matthew 7:9-1 & Luke 6:38

9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. In a moment we are going to take up this morning’s tithes and offerings, but first let’s open up our Bible to Malachi chapter 3, verse 10. Hold your place there for just a moment while I read a brief story from an article on People.com. A California man who had been seriously injured in an automotive accident had been on disability checks for years after his injuries permanently ended a career in carpentry. After running out of disability checks, the financial struggle went from bad to worse for his family, to the extent of having his children sent to live with their grandparents across the country in Louisiana, because he could not afford to support them. Things were on a downward spiral until one day he recognized a Navajo blanket on an Antiques Roadshow television program that was suspiciously similar to an old blanket he had inherited from his great-grandmother who had since passed. After finding this blanket tucked away in an old dusty box, he had it appraised for a selling price and ultimately sold it in an auction for 1.5 million dollars! Now he had this blanket in his possession the entire time. Through all of the struggle, through all of the fight to make ends meet, he was sitting on a gold mine but he did not recognize it. He did not tap into his blessing. Financial blessing from God is the same way! He has provided the route for us to take to be blessed in our finances. Let’s look at our scripture now, Malachi 3:10. “‘Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.’” God has provided the way for us to be blessed! He has all of the means to do it, He wants to do it, and all we have to do is believe we receive it and tap into our blessing. Don’t keep your blessing locked up in a dusty closet somewhere. Recognize it, and by faith receive it. It is God’s plan! Confession: “Lord I bring my gift to you today. I recognize that you have provided a way to my blessing, and I tap into it by faith as I give. I believe that I receive.” Check the next tithe idea.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. In a moment we are going to take up this morning’s tithes and offerings but first, let’s find a couple passages in our Bibles: Matthew 11:28, and Matthew 19:21. The world is a very big place, and with that comes people from many different backgrounds and cultures. And with such a broad expanse of people comes division, strife, and even times resentment for one another. Some cultures and ways of life are so vastly separated and different, that it can be darn near impossible to find common ground. But in the midst of such an evil and dark time that we see in our world today, there is a light that comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ. In Matthew 11:28 Christ says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” That means that no matter where we come from, no matter our cultural background, financial state or geographical location, there is unity and love in the body of Jesus Christ, the church. And as His body, it is our responsibility to continue the ministry of Jesus every day in the world we live in. That is why it is so important to give into the Kingdom of God. To support the work of the ministry. Because we as the body of Christ have a job to do, to bring the light of Christ to a dark and dying world. So when you give, know that your gift is going forth to advance the Kingdom of God. Jesus says in Matthew 19:21, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” Confession: “Lord today I bring my gift to your house to sow into your kingdom. I believe that you will use this gift to reach the lost, and help preach the gospel to those in need. I take on the responsibility of the body of Christ, and I believe that I am building treasure in Heaven.” Check the next tithe idea.

Good morning and welcome to Our Church. We are so glad to have you here today! In a moment we are going to receive this week’s tithes and offerings, so let’s turn over to James 2:17. “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” Also down in verses 21–22 we see, “Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?” James 1: 22 says, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” So we see that faith is activated by action. It is like turning on the light switch. The electricity is there, but the switch must be flipped in order to activate it and power the light. In Hebrews 11:4 we see an example of faith put into action by giving. “By FAITH Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.” So we see here two perfect examples of faith being put into action by offering gifts to God. Abraham putting his faith into action offered his son Isaac, and Abel by faith offered an excellent gift to the Lord. So today as you give, know that you are putting your faith into action, and faith pleases God. Confession: “Lord today I bring my offering to you as an act of faith. I put my faith into action and I believe that you will honor it and pour out a blessing in my life.” Check the next tithe idea.

4 By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.

17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without [a]your works, and I will show you my faith by [b]my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is [c]dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made [d]perfect?

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,’ Says the Lord of hosts, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,’ Says the Lord of hosts;”

How great is that!? God says that when we give the tithe to Him, he honors us not only in an overflow of blessing, but in protection from the devourer. God has given the tither the right of abundant prosperity and shielding from the enemy. How many of you know it’s a good thing to have God rebuking the enemy for you? He says he will rebuke the devourer, so that you will be prosperous in all you lay your hand to. What a blessing! So as you give today, thank God that He first sends in an abundant blessing, but also that he rebukes the devourer for your sake.

Confession: “Lord today I bring my tithe, and in your word you said that when I bring in my tithe to your house you will rebuke the devourer for my sake. I believe it, I receive it, and I have faith in your word. Thank you for your abundant blessing!”

Tithe Scripture: Malachi 3:10–11

10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.

11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church! We are so happy that you were able to make it out today, and we know that God has some mighty things in store for you. Before we get into the message we are going to take up our weekly tithes and offerings. How many of you have ever been on the receiving end of something that was above and beyond what you were expecting? Maybe you received a gift from someone that just blew you away. You never expected it and it just blessed you. Maybe you paid for a service of some type and the result was more than you paid for. Or perhaps you ordered something with two-day shipping on Amazon and it showed up a day early! No matter what, over and above is always a good thing. Now, how many of you know that we serve an “over and above” God? When God blesses us he brings in more than we could ever imagine! But don’t take my word for it, let’s look at what the bible says about this. Turn with me to John 6:12–13. This is the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000. Jesus had taken 5 barley loaves and 2 small fish and multiplied them to feed the entire crowd. “So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, ‘Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.’ Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.” So Jesus not only multiplied 5 loaves and 2 fish for 5,000 people, but He said to gather up the remaining fragments of loaves and filled 12 baskets full. So not only did Jesus feed the 5,000, He provided food for His disciples and all else who needed it for weeks on end. No wonder the apostle Paul said in his letter to the Ephesians, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.” So today as we give, believe that you serve a God that is “over and above”. Believe that He is true to His word and will bless the work of your hands. Confession: “Lord today I bring my gift to your house. I believe that you are a God of more than enough, and I thank you by faith that you will bless the work of my hands and my life as a whole. I thank you that you are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask or think, and I stand on your word in faith.“

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. We are happy to have you here today, and we believe that God has great plans for you! In a moment we are going to take up this week’s tithes and offerings, so let’s get into the word for a minute. In the book of Leviticus, chapter 27 verse 30 we see the Lord says, “And all the offerings of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord.” And we see in verse 32, “And concerning the offerings of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the Lord.” So we see clearly that the offerings is the Lord’s, and He calls it holy. Holy by definition means to be dedicated or consecrated to God. So our offerings should be set apart and dedicated to God, as a holy gift. In Malachi 3:10, after God says to bring the tithe into the storehouse (His house), he says, “Try me now this, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” So when we give the Lord what is dedicated to Him and holy to Him, He will pour out His blessing on us. That’s wonderful news! Confession: “Lord, in your word you call the offerings holy, and say that it is yours. I bring my offerings to you today as an act of worship to you, and I believe that you will pour out a blessing on my life that there will not be room to receive it all. I stand on your word in faith.”

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church! We are glad to have you here with us this morning. In a moment we are going to take up this week’s tithes and offerings. So let’s open up the bible to Luke 11:42. These are red letters, how many of you know that Jesus is talking here? These are the words of Jesus. In Luke 11:42 He says, “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.” In this passage Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees. He says that they tithe of what they have but they leave out the love of God. Jesus says that you should tithe! But that the tithe should be an act of love toward God, and should not be followed with hypocrisy. In Matthew 6:2–4 Jesus says, “Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.” So giving to God should be an act of intimate love between yourself and God only. Jesus said not to be like the hypocrites, but to tithe with love in your heart to God, and that it should be an intimate offering to Him. So today when we give, let us give as an act of love to God, simply because we love Him. Confession: “Lord today I bring my gift to you as an act of love. I thank you that I do not boast in my offerings as the hypocrites do, but I give to you in secret Father, and you will reward me openly for it. I believe that I recieve, and I give in faith.”

Good morning and welcome to Our Church! We are so glad that you are here today, and we believe that God is going to do something awesome in your life today. In a moment we are going to take up this week’s tithes and offerings. So let’s turn in our bibles over to Deuteronomy 14:22. “You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year.” So we see this commandment toofferings in the Old Testament, but let’s turn over to Matthew 23:23 to see what Jesus has to say about this matter. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.” So we see Jesus here talking to the the Pharisees and Scribes, and He says that they pay their tithe, but they lack justice, mercy, and faith! He says that we of course ought to tithe, though we should not base our giving in tradition, but in faith and in the heart. So we come today to fulfill the commandment of the tithe and honor God, but also we give in FAITH, and in love just as Jesus commanded. Confession: “Lord we come before you today to present our tithe and offering to you in faith. We believe your word, and we honor it by putting our faith in action through giving. We thank you for your blessing, and we believe we will have what you promised.”

Good morning and welcome to Our Church. We are so happy to have you here with us today. In a moment we are going to take up this morning’s tithes and offerings. So let’s open up to the book of Philippians, chapter 4 verse 15. “Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.” And in verse 17, “Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.” Paul, in this portion of his letter, is thanking the church in Philippi for their generosity in giving to the work of the gospel. How many of you know that Paul was one of the greatest missionaries to ever live, and the Philippian church was loyal to support Paul in his work for Christ. Now notice what he referred to their gift as: “Giving and receiving”. That implies that when they gave, they received in return! So let’s now look at verse 19: “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” So the Philippians gave into the work of the gospel of Christ, and the apostle Paul says God would supply ALL of their needs. This is a biblical principle that is applicable the same to the church today as it was to the Philippian church. So as we give today we can believe that God will bless us and supply ALL of our needs! Confession: “God I come today to present my gift to the work of your gospel. I believe in the law of giving and receiving, and have faith that you, my God, shall supply ALL of my needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus!”

15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. 16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I [a]have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. We are so happy to have you all here today, and we believe that God is going to do something awesome in your lives in this service. In a moment we are going to take up this week’s tithes and offerings, so if you haven’t prepared your gift, now would be a good time to do so. Before we receive the offering, let’s have a look into God’s word in Leviticus 27:30. “And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord.” God is saying that the tithe actually belongs to Him. He is the rightful owner of that gift. But let’s also look in the New Testament and find what Jesus said about the matter. In Mark 12:15 we see the pharisees testing Jesus, attempting to trick him into saying the wrong thing. They asked him if it was lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, the ruler of the Roman Empire, to whom Israel was subject to at that time. “Shall we pay, or shall we not pay?’ But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, ‘Why do you test Me? Bring Me a denarius that I may see it.’ So they brought it. And He said to them, ‘Whose image and inscription is this?’ They said to Him, ‘Caesar’s.’ And Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.’ And they marveled at Him.” So Jesus says to give to God the things that are God’s, and we just read where God says that the tithe belongs to Him. So today when we give, let’s give with grace in our hearts to the Lord and know that we are being obedient to His word. Confession: “Lord God, today I bring my tithe and gift into your house in order to give to you what belongs to you. Jesus, you said to give to God what is God’s, and I act in faith on your word.”

41 Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. 42 Then one poor widow came and threw in two [a]mites, which make a [b]quadrans. 43 So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; 44 for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”

Good morning and welcome to Our Church! We are so excited to have you all with us today to celebrate Jesus. No matter where you come from we believe that God is going to do something miraculous in your life today. Before we get into the message today we are going to take up this week’s tithes and offerings. So while you prepare your gift this morning let’s turn over to Galatians 6. How many here today have heard the age old saying, you reap what you sow? Most of us, if not all of us have heard this at least once or twice in our lives, and usually in a negative connotation. We do something bad as kids and mom gives us a smack on the hand and says, “You reap what you sow!” Well, how many of you know where this saying comes from? In Galatians 6 verses 6 and 7 we find the answer to that question. “Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” We see that Paul uses this phrase in his letter to the church at Galatia. And while we mostly hear of this saying in a negative context nowadays, we see Paul using it on the positive side! How many know that he is talking about the law of sowing and reaping? Paul tells the church that when we give into the kingdom, we shall reap a harvest from that seed sown. What did Jesus say in Luke 6:38? “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” So we see the true meaning that God intended! That when we sow, we WILL reap. Jesus said so Himself. So today when you give, believe firmly in your heart that you WILL reap what you sow! Confession: “Lord today I bring my gift with the knowledge that I will reap a return on what I sow. I thank you that you are not mocked, and that you will keep your word. I believe, in faith, and receive my blessing.”

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

In this passage we see Jesus speaking to the crowds of people surrounding Him. He tells them not to store up treasures here on the earth, but to store up treasures in Heaven. How many know that when we get to Heaven, we are going to have some treasures stored up for us if we do the will of God? But how do we store up those treasures? Let’s look at another passage of Jesus speaking, in Matthew 19:21.

“Jesus said to him, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.’”

Often in life it is easy to get caught up in our lives and forget about people in need all around the world. Jesus not only reminds us to remember them, but to take drastic measures to give. Now I am not asking that you sell your home this morning, but when we give this morning into the missions fund, give whatever is on your heart. And the awesome part is that when we give to the less fortunate, we store up for ourselves treasures in Heaven, where they can never be taken away. So let’s give with generous hearts this morning.

Confession: “Lord today I bring my gift to your house to give to those in need. I believe that my gift will go out and reach the poor and bless them abundantly, and also I believe that I am storing up treasures in heaven.”

So along with our weekly receiving of the tithe this week, we are going to be taking up a special offering for our missions fund. But before we receive the offering, let’s have a look into God’s word. In Matthew 25:34–40 we find Jesus teaching. “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’” How many know that we will all meet Jesus someday, and when we do our entire lives—everything we’ve ever done—will be revealed before us. We see Jesus here speaking of that day. Jesus says “I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me drink, naked and you clothed me.” He then explains that when we give to those in need in His name, we do it to Him as well. As the church, we have a responsibility to help those in need. So today as we take up this missions offering, know that along with helping those in need, we give to God. And to those who gave into His Kingdom He says, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world”. Confession: “Father, today we bring our gifts to your house. Lord Jesus you said that when we give to the needy, that we give to you. We thank you that our gifts will reach those who need it most, and that you will be glorified. And Lord we thank you that you call us blessed, and that we will inherit your Kingdom.”

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Jesus says where we put our treasure, that is where our heart is, so when we give to the Lord, we give out of the abundance of our heart. So today as we take up this offering, look into your heart and listen for what is on your own heart to give. And know that when you give, and your heart lays with the Kingdom of God, you are storing up treasures in Heaven. Confession: “Lord, today I bring my offering to your house. You said Jesus, that where my treasure is, my heart will be also. So I bring my gift to you today out of an act of love from my heart. I thank you that I am laying up treasures in Heaven. I believe it, and I receive it.”

Good morning and welcome to Our Church. We are happy to have you here with us this morning, and we believe that God has a mighty plan in store for you. Before we get into the main message today, we are going to take up this morning’s tithes and offerings. So while we prepare our gifts, let’s turn over to Malachi 3:10. How many of you have a big friend? Just someone who is really tough, and you feel a little safer when they are around. Maybe when you hang around them you have a little more boldness than you usually do, because if anybody gets riled up you have your big friend to back you up. How many know that it is good to have some backup to help you when you need it? Are we to Malachi 3:10? Let’s look at what the Lord says. “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,’ Says the Lord of hosts, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” Wow. God says that when we bring in our tithe to His house, not only will He bless us abundantly to where there won’t even be room enough to receive it, but He will rebuke the devourer for our sakes. Fruit of the ground, vines in the field, most of us aren’t farmers so what does that mean for us? It means that our blessing is protected, that our finances are protected, and that we are protected. Amen! How many would like to have God at your back protecting you. Talk about a big friend! So today as we give, believe that you will receive a blessing, but also that the Lord will rebuke the devourer for your sake. Confession: “Lord, today I bring my tithe into your house, and I know that you will open up the heavens and pour out a blessing upon my life. Not only that, but I know that you will rebuke the devourer for my sake, and that I will walk with the protection of God in every aspect of my life. I believe it and I receive it.”

Acts 2:44–45 says: “Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.” This verse is talking about the church. The NLT translation says “All the believers”, meaning all of the believers in Christ Jesus. These Christians took the words of Jesus quite literally when He said to “sell all you have and give to the poor”. They sold what they had as a group, and gave to all of those in need. Now don’t worry, I am not going to ask you all to sell your homes and vehicles today, but what I am going to do is challenge you to see the true mission of the church. It is our calling and our job to spread the gospel to the world, and part of that gospel is helping those in need. We see the original church giving all they had to help those who had nothing, so today I challenge you to search in your own heart about what to give. We are blessed to be a blessing to others, so when we give today let’s fulfill the mission given to us by Christ. Confession: “Lord, today we bring our gifts before you in your house. Just like the original church did, we come together God to gather up funds for those in need. We believe that you will extend your mighty hand over this offering, and that it will go out in the name of the gospel, and that your people will be blessed by it.”

Before we get into this morning’s message we are going to take up this week’s offering. Now here at our church, we make it a mission to reach those in need throughout the world. So today we are going to dedicate this offering message to reach those in need. So turn over to Hebrews 13:16 with me. “And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” We see the bible clearly tells us not to forget sharing with the poor. It is our mission given by Christ to share the gospel with those in need, and we see that mission backed up by this verse. And when we do good and share with the less fortunate, those sacrifices please God. Not only is God pleased, but he promises to bless us. In Luke 6:38 Jesus says, “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” So today as we give, believe that God will take your gift and bless others with it, and that you will be blessed as well. Confession: “Lord, today I bring my gift to you. You said in your word not to forget those in need, and that it pleases you when we give. We thank you, God also that you said that with the measure we use it will be measured back to us. We believe and receive this morning.”

Good Morning and welcome to Our Church! We are glad to have you with us today, and we believe that God is going to move greatly today. Before we get into the message, let’s go ahead and take up this weeks tithes and offerings. So let’s turn over to the book of Acts, chapter 20 and verse 35. “And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Isn’t that something!? It is more blessed to receive. So when we give, God counts more blessing to us than if we actually were to receive that very blessing. When we give, we edify others, and enhance and grow the kingdom of God, and that is the greatest blessing we could ever receive, because Jesus said that when we give we store up treasure in Heaven. So when we give today, believe in your heart that God sees your gift as blessed. He sees you and calls you blessed. Confession: “Lord, today I bring my gift to you in Jesus name. In your word you say it is more blessed to give than to receive, so today I bring my gift to your house in honor of you. I believe that you are good and true, and I thank you that you bless the work of my hands.”

But before we begin, we are going to receive this morning’s tithes and offerings. How many people here enjoy blessings? That should be everybody! Blessings from God are amazing. Proverbs 10:22 says, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.” God loves to bless His children, it is written all throughout the bible. But let’s take a look into 2 Corinthians 9:6 to see what the apostle Paul says. “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” God has set up a system, a spiritual law. Sow less, reap less. Sow more, reap more. There are some people here who are believing for a greater harvest. If a farmer wants a greater harvest come fall, what does he do? He plants more seed. Why? Because more seed creates more harvest, it is a natural law. God is so good that He has set in motion the same law in the spirit. More seed equals a greater harvest. Maybe some of you here have been a Christian a long time, you have been a faithful giver, and have seen God move greatly in your life. But maybe you are ready to move up to more. God has set the law in motion. So when we give today, remember, greater seed, greater harvest. Confession: “Lord, today I bring my gift to you. You said in your word that if I sow sparingly I will reap sparingly, and if I sow bountifully I will reap bountifully. I believe that with my gift today I will receive a harvest. I sow bountifully today into your Kingdom, and I stand in faith on your word to receive my harvest.”

But before we begin, we are going to receive this morning’s tithes and offerings. Why do we give to God? Is it because the old preacher tells us to? Or maybe we feel forced or pressured by others to toss something into the plate as it goes by. But the question still stands, which is, “Why do we give to God, and why should we give to God? Well to answer that let’s look in 2 Corinthians 9:7. “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” Paul says the source of our motivation should be the heart, not out of necessity. Giving to God is a show of love and honor to God from the heart. Paul also says that when we give we should not give grudgingly or with an attitude, but with cheerfulness. How would it feel to you if someone presented you a gift, but it was obvious they really didn’t want to give it to you and in fact, told all of their friends how they were forced to give you that gift. Not too good, huh? Well how much more should we bring good gifts in a cheerful manner to God? That is why we give. So today, give God what is purposed in your heart. Listen to Him, and obey Him, and bring forth your gift cheerfully. Confession: “Lord, today I bring my gift to your house out of the cheerfulness of my heart. I thank you for all that you have blessed me with, and I present this as an act of love towards you.”

But before we begin, we are going to receive this morning’s tithes and offerings. Today I am going to answer the age old question that church members have been asking for years on end, which is “Where does my money go when I give?” Well the answer to that question is actually quite simple. Your money goes into the furthering of the Kingdom of God. Whether it be to the world missions fund or community outreaches, a couple new microphones for the worship team, or simply even the electric bill for the building, the gifts you give advance the Kingdom of God. Let’s look into 2 Corinthians 9:10–11 to see what the word has to say. “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.” Paul is saying that your gift is a blessing to others, and causes thanksgiving to God in the lives of others. Not only does God promise a return of a blessing to you in your lives, but when you give it reaches others, which prompts thanksgiving. Your gift reaches starving children across the globe, the homeless in the streets of our communities, and funds the house of God where we can provide a haven of rest to those who need salvation. So when you give today, realize that your money is fulfilling a greater purpose in the Kingdom of God. That you are inspiring thankfulness in the lives of those who are blessed, and that you will be blessed by God because of it. Confession: “Lord, today I bring my gift to your house. I know that you will use this gift mightily for your Kingdom, and that you will bless me because of it. I thank you for those who will be impacted through my finances, and I receive the blessing that you have for me.”

Good morning and welcome to Our Church. We are so glad to have you here with us today. We believe that God is going to do something great in all of your lives today, and that you will be blessed. Before we get into this morning’s message, we are going to be taking up this week’s tithes and offerings. Today we are going to talk about something I am sure everyone wants to hear about, the love of money. Often times in life we find ourselves chasing after it. We stress about it, we fight about it, we spend our days trying to obtain it. Some people do whatever they can, even to the extent of endangering others, to get it. Money can be a dangerous thing if sought after improperly. So let’s open up the Bible to 1 Timothy 6:10, to see what the apostle Paul had to say on the matter. “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Now before I start a riot in here today, I want to clarify that Paul did not say that money is evil. He said that the love of money is the ROOT of all kinds of evil, to the extent of some people leaving the faith in their greediness. How many people know a person or two who won’t go to church because of the offering? “They just want my money”, they say. The issue when this happens is rooted in the heart. Jesus says in Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” When your treasure is in money and riches, it has occupied all the space in your heart, leaving no room for God. That is why Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot SERVE God and mammon.” Now that being said, money IS a remarkable tool, and God desires to bless us in our finances. Money is a terrible master, but it can be an amazing servant. God wants us to be blessed, so that we can be a blessing to those in need. What an opportunity we have to give into God’s Kingdom, and to show the love of Christ to those who need it. So when we take up today’s offering, look inside your heart and ask the Lord what He would have from you today, and know that when we are faithful to Him, He is always faithful to us in return. Confession: “Lord, today I bring my gift to your house. You said in your word that where my treasure is, my heart will be also, so today I dedicate you to be priority in my life. I know that I will reap a harvest from my gift today, and that you will use this offering to bless others who need it.”

Before we get into this morning’s message, we are going to be taking up this week’s tithes and offerings. So let’s turn all the way back here to Genesis 8:22. “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.” In the beginning, God set in stone laws on the earth, one of those being the law of seedtime and harvest. When a farmer wants to farm corn, does he just walk out to a field in the middle of Nebraska with his tractor and wait for corn? No, he first plants seed, which grows and produces a harvest. The farmer can expect a harvest. He knows that when that seed is planted, that stalk of corn is on its way up to soon be collected. It is a law set by God. Well the same can be applied to the spirit. In Galatians 6:7 the apostle Paul writes, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” Paul is talking here in the context of a spiritual law! In the very next verse he says, “he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life”. So this law is set in stone by God in spirit and in the earth. So when we give, understand that we are planting seed into His kingdom. Paul said “God is not mocked”. He will not fail. He sets laws in motion and He will not fail us. When we give, we can expect a harvest just like a farmer would with his crop. So today when we give, believe God that He will bless you with a harvest out of your seed. He is good and faithful, and He always keeps His promises. Confession: “Lord God, today we bring our gift to your house to sow seed into your ministry. We believe in your word where you said that whatever we sow, we shall reap a harvest. We believe it and we receive it, and we act on our faith today.”

Before we get into this morning’s message, we are going to be taking up this week’s tithes and offerings. So let’s turn over to 1 Chronicles 29:3–8. This passage starts with King David speaking to the people of Israel. “‘Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, my own special treasure of gold and silver: three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses; the gold for things of gold and the silver for things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be done by the hands of craftsmen. Who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the Lord?’ Then the leaders of the fathers’ houses, leaders of the tribes of Israel, the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the officers over the king’s work, offered willingly. They gave for the work of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.” At this time in history, God had yet to have an earthly house. The israelites had the tabernacle for God, but God laid upon King David’s heart to build Him an earthly temple. So the people of Israel conducted an offering, and in verse 7 we see that “They gave for the work of the house of God”. The church building is the house of God. We come here to worship and praise and learn about the Lord just like the Israelites did in the temple. In honor of God they gave what they had to support God’s house, and the same should be done in this day and age. Believe it or not the church’s electricity does not run on the Holy Spirit! So we are so thankful for those who are faithful givers, because without you we would not be able to do what we do for God here. In verse 9 we see that the people rejoiced gladly! “Then the people rejoiced, for they had offered willingly, because with a loyal heart they had offered willingly to the Lord; and King David also rejoiced greatly.” So as we give today, know that your gift profits the work of the Kingdom and that pleases God. Be glad! Rejoice! Confession: “Lord, today we bring our gift into your house. We thank you for all that you do, and as an act of worship we bring our gift to profit your ministry like King David and the nation of Israel.”

3 Besides, in my devotion to the temple of my God I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver for the temple of my God, over and above everything I have provided for this holy temple: 4 three thousand talents[a] of gold (gold of Ophir) and seven thousand talents[b] of refined silver, for the overlaying of the walls of the buildings, 5 for the gold work and the silver work, and for all the work to be done by the craftsmen. Now, who is willing to consecrate themselves to the Lord today?”

6 Then the leaders of families, the officers of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and the officials in charge of the king’s work gave willingly. 7 They gave toward the work on the temple of God five thousand talents[c] and ten thousand darics[d] of gold, ten thousand talents[e] of silver, eighteen thousand talents[f] of bronze and a hundred thousand talents[g] of iron. 8 Anyone who had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the temple of the Lord in the custody of Jehiel the Gershonite. 9 The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord. Good morning and welcome to Our Church. We are so glad to have you here with us today. We believe that God is going to do something great in all of your lives today, and that you will be blessed. Before we get into this morning’s message, we are going to be taking up this week’s tithes and offerings. Here at Our Church we always make it a priority to serve people. Whether it be through our missions backing and trips, community outreaches, or even a Sunday service here, we know that we are working to grow the Kingdom of God. Often times people get too caught up in the title of the pastor, or the missionary, or the evangelist. The truth is that every believer is equally as important in the Kingdom of God as the biggest evangelist in the world! Yes, God has appointed some to lead, but a leader is nothing without the backing of the congregation—the church—and that is how God views it. In 1 Samuel 30:24 we see this passage. “Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.” The Spirit of God by the prophet Samuel says that whether you are the one going into battle, or the one who stays behind and guards the supplies, the victory belongs to both! The spoils are shared by both equally. We may fund world missions around the globe, or give into the ministry of an evangelist, but just because you may not be physically in another country or on a stage preaching does not mean that you are not as important! When we give, this empowers others to go out and spread the gospel to places they would never be able to go without help, and the bible says that we will share in the treasure given in Heaven! Wow! Just imagine getting to Heaven someday, and people coming up and saying that since you and your church gave, a preacher was able to reach them and tell them about Jesus. That’s awesome. So today as we give, let’s thank God that He uses this gift to reach others for Christ. Confession: “Lord God, today we bring you our tithes and offerings. We thank you that you will use these gifts to reach people all over the world. We thank you for the laborers that you send out into the harvest, and that we receive treasures in Heaven for our giving.”

10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.

Good morning and welcome to Our Church. We are so glad to have you here with us today. We believe that God is going to do something great in all of your lives today, and that you will be blessed. Before we get into this morning’s message, we are going to be taking up this week’s tithes and offerings. Often people feel pressured by the offering message. I would like to clarify that it is never my intent to “force” you or pressure you to give in the offering. My job is not to strong-arm you into putting $20 into the offering plate as it goes by. God has provided a way for us to be blessed and sow into His ministry, and we are extending an opportunity to give to God. To further explain let’s look at the Bible, in 2 Corinthians 9:6–7. “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” The apostle Paul says to the church in Corinth to give as he purposes in his heart. He says if you sow sparingly you’ll reap sparingly, and if you sow bountifully you will reap bountifully. He also says not to give grudgingly or out of necessity but just give what you know in your heart to be true. God will bless you no matter what you give, but your harvest is dependant on the amount of seed. You have to give out of your faith to receive. Dr. Lester Sumrall, a great man of faith, once said that you can’t believe God for a three tier wedding cake before you can believe God for a doughnut. So today as we give, give out of whatever faith you have to receive. Maybe you have the faith to give ten dollars. That’s great! God will bless you! Then in a couple weeks your faith grows and you give twenty, and the next week thirty, until you faith in God’s blessing is so strong and built up that you can believe God for an amazing blessing a greater amount. So give out of your heart today with a cheerful spirit, and I promise you will see God’s financial blessing. Confession: “Lord today I bring my offering. I give today out of the abundance of my heart cheerfully, and I believe I will receive a harvest relevant to my seed sown. I believe it, and I receive it in Jesus name.”

6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.’[b]”

7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”

9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Our Church. We are so happy to have you all here today, and we believe that God is going to do something awesome in your lives in this service. In a moment we are going to take up this week’s tithes and offerings, so if you haven’t prepared your gift now would be a good time to do so. How many people here have ever tried to get a loan? Not just from a bank, I’m talking a loan of money from anybody, whether it be a friend, a parent, a co-worker, it doesn’t matter. When you go to get a loan what is the one thing that you really need? Good credit history. Even with a friend or coworker, if you have a history of “borrowing money” and never returning the cash, the odds of borrowing more start to diminish! Well how many people know that God has a very similar system? To prove this to you, let’s look at Malachi 3:10. “‘Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,’ Says the Lord of hosts, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.’” So God says to bring in our tithe, 10% of our gross, and present it at His house to him. Then comes the fun part. He says “Try me now this if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” So when we give and prove ourselves faithful with what the Lord has provided, he pours out blessing. Then we tithe and prove ourselves faithful again with that blessing, and he pours out more! Then we prove ourselves faithful with that amount and He pours out more, and the cycle continues! People want to believe God for 1 million dollars but can’t tithe off of $100. Prove yourself faithful and build your “God credit”. He has set up a way for you to be blessed, and He wants to bless you! Just have faith in Him and believe He will do what he promised He would. Confession: “Lord today I bring my tithe to your house to present to you. I have faith Lord that you will pour out a blessing in my life that overflows, and I will again prove myself faithful with that. I thank you for the opportunity to give into your Kingdom, and I stand on your word.”

Good morning and welcome to Our Church. We are happy to have you here today, and we believe that you will be blessed! In a moment we are going to take up this week’s tithes and offerings. Let’s open up our bibles this morning to 1 Chronicles, the 29th chapter. We pick up here with King David near the end of his life, and his last royal decree before handing the throne down to his son Solomon is to gather an offering from the people to build the Lord’s great temple. After receiving perhaps the greatest offering ever given to God, we see in verse 19 that David says this. “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, and of Your own we have given You.” Another version says, “Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” King David realized that every blessing he had, every gift that he had, and every good thing came from God. James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” God gives us all of our blessings and good gifts! King David recognized this and said wisely that everything they offer to God, has already come from His own hand. How good is that? That changes our thought process on giving a little bit doesn’t it? God is gracious enough to bless us, and in an attitude of thankfulness we get to return that to His kingdom. So as we give today let’s have the same mind as King David and the Israelites did, which is that God gave us our blessings, and we are simply giving Him what already belongs to him. Confession: “Lord I come today to give to you what is already yours. Like King David said, everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. I thank you that every good and perfect gift comes down from you Father, and I believe that from this gift more blessings will come down into my life. I believe it and receive it.”

Before we get into this morning’s message, we are going to be taking up this week’s tithes and offerings. So let’s turn in our bibles over to 2 Corinthians 8:1–4. In this passage, Paul is writing to the church in Corinth and discussing the topic of giving with them. “Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia: that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing, imploring us with much urgency that we would receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.” Paul gives testimony of the churches of Macedonia, that even in their great trial and deep poverty they did not stop giving generously into the ministry of Paul and the other apostles. Paul calls it the riches of their liberality, and that they gave beyond their ability. Now that is really something, to give beyond your ability? And not only that but they were freely willing, and had to implore Paul with urgency that he would even receive their gift. Radical generosity is what drives the church. When we give we should have the same faith as the Macedonians. They gave beyond their ability, but their faith in God was so great that they willingly gave. So today when we take up this offering, have faith that God will reward you when you give radically and willingly, and you will be blessed. Confession: “Lord today we come to your house to give with radical generosity. Your word speaks of the Macedonian churches that generously gave into the ministry of the apostles, and that the grace of God was bestowed upon them. We give with the same heart today, and believe that you will pour out your blessing upon our lives.”

8 And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. 2 In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people.

Spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ is the single most important task that anyone could ever do on this earth, and we are all called to do it equally. When you give, it enables our church to do things and reach people that need Jesus, that are lost in life, or simply need some food and water. Your giving spreads the gospel more than I could ever do by myself and for that I thank you. This building that we are all sitting in, is funded by your giving. This church is funded by your generosity. We would simply not be here if we did not have a faithful body of believers willing to sow seed into this church, and we can not be more grateful. So today as we take up this offering, I thank you, and I pray that God will bless every single person that gives today. You are more than a congregation to me, you are the body of Christ and my family, and I thank God for you. Confession: “Lord, bless all those who give today, because without them all of this would not be possible. Your word says to “give and it will be given to you, pressed down, shaken together, and running over” will it be poured into your lap.
